THE OTHER ISLANDS
IRAKLIA
Uncontaminated and still little visited by tourism, Iraklia is part of a small archipelago of islets called the Small Cyclades and located south of Naxos.
Particularly recommended for those who love walking. Disembarking at the port of Agios Georgios you immediately realize that the island is tiny and there is nothing else to do but dive into its clear waters, eat and drink.
Three or four typical restaurants liven up the port and the minimarket also acts as a naval agency, post office, bicycle rental and other services, in short it is the organizational center of Iraklia.
Not far from the port, reachable with a 10 minute walk, the Livadi beach offers crystal clear sea and a couple of taverns; in one of these Petros welcomes you with a big smile to let you taste the dishes prepared by his mother and the liqueur she produces.
Captain Mitsaras, at the command of his small boat, organizes daily trips to the beaches of Mavrokarvouno and Allimia and all ' island of Schinousa.
Crossing the island with a scooter you stop at the only village, Panagia, lazy and sleepy with a single kafeneio frequented by locals who they will look at you a little curiously; continuing you reach the small and secluded beach of Turkopigado.
